I think you'll be OK, they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that. www.silverstreetphoto.com | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

Maybe crop a bit tighter on the right side to get rid of the little bit of brown in the black doorway. Other than that it's an excellent photo. I really like the post processing.

Very nice. I would also try to blend the shadow behind his head. Nice looking couple. Great Job.

Thanks Miguel. How would you suggest blending the shadow?

Bump!
Could blending the shadow be as easy as using the clone tool in PS? I'm interested to hear how the pros do it...

Clone tool would work, or you can do a quick fix and use the bandaid tool and just ease the hard line of the shadow which takes your eye off the shadow and more on the subjects. Eitherway I agree with previous posts it need to be removed if all possible, at least that hard edge.

Alright, Here's my ammendments. What do you think?
I tried to get rid of the shadow a little, cropped a little closer, and burned (or dodged, I always get those two mixed up) some of the blown out parts.
Any better?

Sorry about missing the question. Just like Mike said, I would try either cloning at a lower opacity, or trying the bandaid (healing) tool. You did a pretty good job. I would probably blend it a little more to try to get rid of it, but thats a personal preference.

Already a HUGE improvement, I like the crop better (Always been a tight crop person for personal shots like this though) and the shadow's hard edge really improves on the overall feel and look to the image. If anything maybe lighten the Midnight Sepia look just a tad and see if you like it better with or without the tone adjustment changes. I do that alot with my images just to make sure I get the final one I like best.

It's definitely going in the right direction. The crop helps, but the shadow still bothers me immediately. All in all, it is an acceptable protrait. If you can "fix" the shadow, I would be happier.

very nice photo. that shadow is the only thing i would suggest changing. this is the reason i try not to use a flash, because those dang shadows are extremely annoying. The crop is much better, but that grainy border doesnt really do anything for it. To me, it makes a professional looking photo look un-professional. I would just use plain white, or just black.
Of course us photographers are much more nit-picky than the clients usually are. I have pictures in my house of my family that i have looked at recently (after i got into photography) and seen many flaws that i would never have even noticed. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
