Haven't ever tried anything like that, but seems like a ladder would be good...lining up a row or two of people sitting, a row or two knealing, and then standing from there. Seems like with the extra height and all you could fit everyone into the image using the 24-70. Good luck!

If there were other ways to get even higher than 6' that might work also (2nd floor balcony, etc...), but I'd think the ladder would work well.

Ladder and shoot from high up. Try to get them into four or five rows. Sitting on the floor, kneeling, sitting on a chair, standing, standing on a chair. f/5.6 or higher for DOF. Focus on the middle row (remember DOF rules!) Extra flash units if necessary.

Wow 150 people. You will need something much taller than a 6' ladder. I have done class reunion groups of that many using a 12' ladder and a superwide lens. You need to get set up ahead of time and mark off the picture area on the floor with masking tape or something. A bullhorn would also help.
