I'm not sure if this is the right spot to post this picture, but I need some help. I see so many pictures that "pop" and very few of mine do. This is a picture I took this weekend at Brazoria NWR of a Caracara and if someone could give me some insight I would greatly appreciate it. The EXIF Image Details are:
Make: Canon
Model: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi
Width: 1612 pixels
Height: 1972 pixels
Focal Length: 200.0mm
F-Number: F/2.8
Exposure Time: 0.0003 sec. 1/3200
Metering Mode: Partial
Compensation: 0.0
ISO Speed: 400
Flash Mode: Off
Date: 2007-02-10 14:13:50

Thanks in advance,
Brandon

I take it was an overcast day? I would have used a tripod and moved to f/5.6 or f/8. Sometimes by moving your aperture you photos actually become sharper in the middle of the range. I would have also used a tripod/monopod at the smaller aperture because my shutter speed would have been slower. Personally I would have tried to get a little angle on the head for depth but other than that a good shot. You definitely have the eye.

Yes it was very overcast that day... seems its been that way for months. Here is another one that iCe took a look at for me, worked his magic, and gave his input. I agree the profile shot is better.

Your out of camera camera settings will not give you images that pop. That must be done in post processing. I recommend purchasing Arthur Morris' Digital Basics pdf file. It is loaded with valuable information and time saving tips. It's $20 well spent.

#18 in your album works. Everyone takes pictures like #16 & #17. They don't let anyone see them.
