I am going to be shootin late modle nascar races. The conditions are at night, lighted and 150mph. I will be up above track on top of announcers booth. I have a D70 and my two lenses wont cut it. The best i have is my 200 and Im not sure im going to be able to ge the shots.

I need ideas on lense, iso, and everything else. Before I spend 1500 i wanna make sure Im getting something that is going to do the job.

Any ideas would be most appreciative!!

my first inclination would be that 1500 is about half what you need for a lens to shoot this. Or, a Canon 20D at ISO 3200

Rent a lens... in Austin, I see a 300mm rental for $50/day. I'd think in Houston or Dallas you could find someone who rents a longer lens or you could rent a 300mm and add a teleconverter for example.

I agree with renting the lens but, that still won't help with your ISO so, look at renting a camera and lens if you really want the pics. Get the largest aperture you can. 300mm 2.8 or similar. Maybe like Tom suggested rent the 20D and lens for the weekend.
