Here is a bit more to explain the "Blown out" and also, some blown out images makes great B&W's and Sepie tone pics, the shot is a good one and that is what you need to begin, you can use Photoshop to make a good shot great, but to save a bad shot, it will always be bad and a trained eye will know it when they see it, I like it on the sepia tone due to the look on her face, I think it adds character to the image at the same time that it takes care of the technical stuff...Keep it going!

Nice picture, pretty eyes. Are you looking to get lights for bad weather reasons, or just to learn new lighting techniques? Your available light pictures are great. I have alien bees that I use on rare occasions. They are great for the price. I prefer available light when I can, but with the Houston weather its not always possible. Keep on posting, and welcome to the forum. | | | |

yes to both, I would like to be able in the future to take pictures indoors, we are thinking about making an addition, muli-pupose and letting me use part of it for an indoor studio...so I think some light would be great, those shots were so hard to get they were all almost blurry I only got 1/25 speed with an 2.8 and 1.8 lens so it was so hard getting it to focus...so I know, well I think I know if I had more light it might help...

to me, the eyes make the photograph - so why not make the eyes the photograph.
tried getting a bit of the hurrell look softly blurring the periphery...
