Canon is offering the download of a free Digital Photo Guidebook for Professionals. The book retails for 20 bucks in the store. It is Canon specific, but there are some tips in the book that would be helpful to any digital photographer.

I tried to print it...Unfortunately, the print is about 6 font in Ariel...I think a magnifiying glass would be appropriate..but you could read it on your computer...
