Anyone have any good suggestions for shoot locations in Manchester, England?

My wife and I will be there in October on business and have a few days to shoot around town.

The train system makes it very easy to get around the country so you won't be limited to just Manchester as Liverpool, Leeds, and York are very close and can be a daytrip. Liverpool Strawberry Fields would be a great background for any Beatles fans, there is a Beatles museum, a shipyard or port, and WWII Uboat. Manchester has a mixture of modern high rise and old Victorian architecture. Leeds has a unique perspective as it wasn't bombed in WWII so there is a lot of Georgian, Victorian, and modern buildings. Leeds has the Royal Armoury which is a day and there are a few of the long, thin houseboats in the area on the river. York has a nice boring castle and town is mostly the very narrow Tutor-style streets. In between Manchester and Leeds are the moors. Leeds also has an old Abby but it would be a taxi ride from the train station. All citys will have a few parks and a church or two within walking distance. Saturday and Sunday are the big shopping days so any shopping center will be packed with people, especially in Leeds.

Dress for wet and cold.

The last time I was there, there was a Brittish Naval ship in one of the channels that Prince Charles was stationed on, near Trafford Wharf Road, of course it could be gone now. Just down the street from that is a great place for a pub-lunch. Also, don't forget the Manchester United is one of renowed football teams ... okay YANKS, "socccer" teams.

I spent some time up in the Oldham area too. So many places to see and do, like David mentioned dress appropriately for "quick" changes in climate conditions.

Thanks David and Randy for the input. I'll start doing some research on your suggestions.
