Shooting a wedding this weekend and not sure exactly what to wear. What do the "pros" recommend. Should I take more than one outfit?

I think you'll be OK, they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

something really comfortable but elegant, and it is usually depends on client. I know some really good photographer can even wear jeans, but they are so good, they don't care how they look, people want them no matter what.
so it's up to you

Depends on the wedding. I would recommend something professional that fits into the crowd.

I am no expert, but I loved a quote I read somewhere: "dress like a guest, not the groom"!

I agree, try to find out how formal the wedding will be and dress appropriately. I always wear at least a shirt and tie, if not a suit, but have been told on two occassions to wear jeans because that's how everyone else was dressed. If nothing else, check with the bride

I usually wear slacks, a nice shirt, and a jacket. I use the jacket more for holding stuff in the pockets. I usually skip the tie because sometimes gets in the cameras way. I dress more like a guest.

For summer in Texas, get yourself a nice black silk shirt or polo, black dress pants and comfortable matching black shoes should be fine.
Clean attaire, well-groomed with professional mannerism is the key.

Good luck with the wedding. :)

If you wear black and perspire, be careful with the "white rings"!

or the white shirts with yellow stains under arm and around the collar

a black tee or tan top inside will easily help with the sweat. Besides, the short sleeve will keep you much cooler than dress shirt and jacket.

RUBBER-soled shoes. Nothing worse than "click-clacking" during the ceremony.

On a more personal note: BLACK underwear - for when you are bending over doing anything - it won't be noticable peeking out from your slacks. I read a thread on another forum a while back about a guy that had his pants actually split - not a large tear but he had white underwear on with black pants so it REALLY showed. Hey - you never know, right? Be prepared. :)

-although I forgot about the above for this afternoons wedding. Oh well. No time to go home and change.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...."there ain't nothin' that a little duct tape won't fix!"

I keep that in my car and superglue in my pocket at weddings. Only had to use the glue once, though.
