Broad daylight shooting advice XP - 05-23-2007, 08:50 AM

I shoot mainly weddings, and we recieved our timeline from Saturdays bride and she is getting married at 4pm, outside with NO shade cover. I had no idea what time she was getting married and we were never asked our opinion about the conditions, so I just want to make the best of it that I can. We're considering underexposing, then just adjusting in lightroom/photoshop either by adjusting exposure for the face and then 'recovering' the blown highlights or by doing one process to expose correctly for the face, one for the dress and the combining the layers. Can anyone think of a BETTER way to handle this situation? It kinda stinks and I know that we wont have any control over how they stand etc. to make it look better. Any advice is good advice! Thanks

If you can get the sun behind the subject then you can use the sun as hairlight and use fill in front. Either by a reflector or use flash (larger the flash source the better).

Underexposing and then attempting to pull detail will have its effect on quality.

Do you shoot raw? I think it's great to mass edit the lighting
