I like this discussion too!
I've been shooting DSLR for a mere 3 months. Formerly I was just a point-n-shoot guy with my Cannon G2. Anyways, I really like using Bibble Pro 4.9 (developed right here near Lake Travis in Austin). I like the fact that I can do "everything I need to do" with my RAW files, batch them, and convert to JPG. Which includes such things as unsharp mask, levels, contrast, vibrance, saturation, lens barrel correction, CA correction, cropping, rotating, sensor dust removal, plus a whole lot more I’ve yet to try? It's a smart application and has great potential for efficient work-flow. The best part I like is I don't have to post-process, any post-processed JPG files. I'm sure Lightroom can do the same, as I'm just plugging for Bibble.
All that being said, I'm not a purist photographer, and I really just like taking stills of life and making them the best they can look, starting with striving to take the best shot and then tweaking from there.
Here's an example of a Lily pad Bloom before and after post-processing using Bibble Pro 4.9:
