Sabine Street Bridge & The Water Wall - 07-07-2007, 09:26 PM

After seeing the Sabine Street Bridge on here I had to give it a try. Please take it easy on me as this is my first time getting into the ISO and AF part of the camera. I also went over to the Water Wall by the Galleria.

Please advise on what I can do to improve these.

TIA

Nice couple of pictures. I would crop out the rail at the bottom of the first picture and do a little burning-in on a couple of spots. The second one I think is awesome and would leave it alone.

Waterwall- Watch your horizon line. I would also crop differently (vertical) but cropping is subjective. Everyone has a different idea about what they like.

The first one could do with a little levels or curves treatment. It's a little flat.

PS- I like the way the buildings picked up the clouds.

I understand the sharpening(CincoJoe). Not sure about the burning-in(greengooey)

So I need to learn more how to edit the photos.

Thanks to the others for the comments and advice. I will start working on that.

I do want to take my car back down there to see how it will turn out. Or if any of you in Houston know if another place I can go. Cars are really what I like to shoot. I also race it. Scott Singleton has taken some shots of it @ HRP

A car like that would look sweet in front of some kind of metal warehouse door.

Yeah on second thought on the first one I would add a little contrast and use the burn tool on the clouds to bring back some of the highlights.

I have a tangential question on the water wall. At what time are the lights on at night? Seems like everytime I go by, it is dark.
