Got this from my Flickr Strobist group this morning. I thought this looked like it had some good tips! Its a little out dated, but some things never change!

its not a bad resource, but that kind of photograhpy is so blah.

Take a look at some of the portrait photographers here and look at some of the lighting they pull off. I woud much rather shoot landscapes and abstract any day, but this is where the money is. Also working with the lighting on this is quite hard. Blah maybe, but if you master the lighting doing this I bet it would be very rewarding!
