I've been eyeing this location for a couple of weeks. I've been trying to get the lighting just right. I think I got - any suggestions and would be appreciated. There is another photo I took in the same location which I'll be posting in a minute or so

Here, the other one. I used Photoshop to create the painting affect. Any suggestions on how to improve would be appreciated.

Angelo, I like the light in #2. As for the painting effect, I don't feel qualified to comment.

Thanks Peter, I've been driving by this pond for a few weeks now and it just catches my eye when I go across between 7p and 8p. This weekend I said, "enough Angelo, get yourself over there and and take some photos". The reason it looked good was for the reflection of the sky on the water, but I got there a bit too early and the lighting was still not right. I should have waited 30 minutes more. I also should have brought my tripod.
It looked good from the bridge but no where to shoot from the the bridge so I entered the beaten pathway that people take to go fishing. It was not exactly what I wanted so, while walking through the pathway I noticed these two images that were better for the available light at that time. Funny how sometimes we go out to capture a scene and we come back with something totally different than what we went out to get.

Angelo,

I think #2 looks great. I agree it would look very good on canvas.

Hope you have been doing well.

Thanks Andrew & Robert,
I just love messing with these kinds of images.
I've been doing well. I'm getting ready for the Alaska trip which comes up, yikes, next week!!!?!
I should get my flash back from Canon tomorrow. They told me they changed the circuitry board so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's fixed, this time.
