My first attempt at an HDR picture - 08-20-2007, 11:15 AM

Any suggestions? This is my first real attempt at taking an "HDR" Pictures. It is composed of 7 images taken 1 stop apart. I don't really know that much about adjusting the tone, so I just moved it around until it looked decent. Any suggestions would be awesome.

Seems a little dark for HDR. I think the point of HDR is to have a large tonal range. Not blown highlights to detail in the shadows. Nice shot I would play with it some more.

I too am just getting into HDR and I love it. I'm pretty much a newbie with photography, but HDR gives me the chance to get some pictures that I'm really happy with.

With your picture it seems like the color is muted in the whole picture. You might want to mess around with the settings when tonemapping the HDR image. It just seems like with 7 different exposures you could get so much more detail and a much more vivid picture. You might want to try taking exposures even more stopped up and down. It looks like to me most of the exposures you took were exposed more for the sun and not for the building or let alone the dark shadows. The broader the range of exposures the better the HDR will turn out.
