John,

I know your main interest is more the ' start here and finally end here ' type course structure........ I think info on those have been well covered here. So here are some more that may be helpful too:

There is currently a FANTASTIC lineup of seminars and workshops through HCP (Houston Center for Photography) The classes all have various price ranges which can be viewed under course descriptions. Some range from $20 to over $100. You do not have to be a member of HCP to take courses, however member prices are slightly lower.

Take a look at the courses - the variety is very very good, with a full lineup of new classes. Here is an excellent opportunity to get good information from TOP professional photographers in their fields................

SEPTEMBER CLASSES : http://hcponline.org/calendar.asp?sdate=9/29/2007

OCTOBER CLASSES: http://hcponline.org/calendar.asp?sdate=10/29/2007

NOVEMBER CLASSES: http://hcponline.org/calendar.asp?sdate=11/29/2007

Kathy Adams Clark is an EXCELLENT teacher. She paces herself well with all experience levels in the class. She is also teaching some of the classes at HCP. I have taken several of her courses through LLU and was more than pleased.

John, you have had some really good advice so far, but just what are you looking for? If you want a degree from college, then you should consider Sam Houston State. They have an excellent photography department and good instructors. If you have the money and time, consider Brooks Institute.

If you are going to try to get this education on a part time basis, then Kathy Adams Clark at Leisure Learning is a great place to start. Next, join Texas Professional Photographers and attend their seminars and the Texas School of Photography offered every spring. You may also want to join the Houston Guild of Professional Photographers and attend their monthly meetings where good programs are offered every month. Not cheap, but may be worthwhile to you.

Rice also has a few classes at its Continuing Studies Department.
http://gscs.rice.edu/scs/Information...nID=1791485443 (see under Digital Media)

I've taken the Intro to Photoshop, Intro to Illustrator & Intro to InDesign. Have not taken any of the Photography classes yet, but plan to sometime in the future.
