Posing for Elderly People - 08-31-2007, 11:37 AM

I will be shooting a silver jubilee tomorrow (50th wedding anniversary). In the beginning I will have some time to take photos of the family as a group. I want to use part of this time to shoot the special couple as well.

Since I have mainly done weddings, I have a bunch of poses in my hip pocket for the bride and groom to do.

However, these folks will be elderly so they cannot bend and kneel as easily. I have some ideas in my mind, but they are mainly photos that are close ups of the two.

Anybody have any thoughts on what might be appropriate for an elderly couple on their 50th wedding anniversary.

Actually 50th would be the "Golden" anniversary. 25th anniversary is silver. You must have meant the color of their hair.

I do two or three of these a year and I try to keep the posing for the couple rather simple. A lot depends on the location and what kind of backgrounds you have. Sometimes they are standing and other times they are seated. If you have a nice interior, you can do some type of environmental shot with them seated on a couch, chair, etc.

I did my parents, and depending on their personality.. (man I wish you could hear my voice!!0 it's their 50th...they have been around ALOT...just photos of them and their family and friends is all they want...they probably are not particular...just show the celebration.

i think they will be very happy with that

at one point i think they were a little tired of taking photos
