CS2 Technical Question - 07-11-2005, 01:37 PM

My friend and I are having the same problem with photoshop. When I open a TIF of RAW file on my computer at work or on my laptop, I can save it as a JPEG, but on my home computer it will only let me save as a JPEG if I save for the web. Also, on my home computer certian filters (ie smart blur) are not available when I am working on a TIF.
Any suggestions???

I think you'll be OK, they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

i know certain filters are only available in 8bit files...and someone could probably be more specific...but i think tiff files are 16 bit...

and i just tried saving a 16bit as a jpeg, and it doesn't work...go to image - mode - and convert to 8 bit - you should be able to save it as jpeg then...

janetg got it right. Sounds like a 16 bit vs. 8 bit problem.
