Help! Memory Card has changed prefix! - 10-13-2007, 08:53 AM

My memory card has changed the prefix from IMG to _MG -- does anyone know how to change it back to IMG? I know that I can rename the photos afterwards, but I would like to change it back to IMG, if possible.

I have no idea how I accidentally (I presume) changed it! Thanks for the help!

Well on my Nikon, the dash before the prefix means it is in a different color space, Adobe RGB not sRGB, it shoots in either color space. So you may have changed a setting for something similar.

I'm not sure what camera you're using but I don't think this is a function of the memory card...there should be a setting in your camera to set the prefix....the memory card doesn't have any logic of its own to perform such magic.

That's it! I did change the color space to Adobe RGB from sRGB. Wow - I would have NEVER figured that out! It is still a tad annoying though ...
