Where to get good prints? - 07-13-2005, 04:35 PM

Howdy all,

I'm interested in getting a few prints made through an online service.

I've used http://www.ezprints.com before with success. But I was wondering if anyone has had experience with other online printers? Good? Bad? Any recommendations?

I'm just looking for a good, quality service that might be a little cheaper than Ezprints. Thanks!

I've used Adorama in the past. They do a great job and you can occasionally get free prints if you watch their web site.

Most of the time, though, I just send my photos to Costco on Katy Freeway.

Ive used MPIX, they are pretty good...not sure of prices right off. I have also used walmart.com The prints are just as good as far as I can tell, and you can pick them up in an hour.

I hear whcc is good, but I haven't tried them yet.

In terms of quality, I put Mpix and Winkflash at the top. Service and speed-wise, however, Mpix wins.

I use Mpix for "prints I needed yesterday." I use Winkflash for general printing, or times when the deadline is flexible, since their quality is comparable (equal?) but have slower turnaround.

Local Wal-mart labs are ok, but I don't use them for paid work. I hear their central lab (which is used for online ordering) is better though I haven't tried.
