Help !!! Custom White Balance - 10-28-2007, 12:27 PM

I have a Canon 30D and I currently use a Lastolite EZY Balance Grey/White 12" and I hope there is an easier way? www.lastolite.com

The problem I have is that I have to take a photo in manual mode and the card must fill the whole frame and I can set my balance from there. It is ok if I have an extra person to hold it but yesterday at a football game it was blowing away in the wind and I couldn't get it in the same light as the players in the field because of shadows and such.

It took about 30 min to secure it and get a shot in the correct lighting.

Please help!

I use the Whibal (http://www.whibal.com/index_new.html) card that I can use by myself. Works ok for me.

shoot in raw and auto or a preset function, and then adjust the white balance on the computer. In raw, you don't loose information.

Ditto on the Expodisk. Its handy and quick. Just snap in on, set your preset and click and rock and roll.
