Halloween Photo Tips? - 10-30-2007, 10:24 PM

I took some long exposure shots of our jack-o-lantern tonight and also tried painting with light -- both firsts for me. Any tips on how to get great jack-o-lantern shots?

What equipment are you using?
Camera?
Lens?
ISO?
Exposure?
Aperature?
Shutter?
Tripod?

Canon 30D
Tripod
28-135 IS 3.5-5.6 lens

I played around with various shutter speeds and aperatures but kept the ISO at 100. Just looking for some fun ideas ...

Any suggestions?

They are not necessarily problematic, I was really just playing and I was hoping to generate some additional ideas on things to try / play with before I toss the jack-o-lantern.

I did notice that my ISO was pretty high on the shots (not on purpose, rookie mistake of not checking after my last shoot).

Thanks, Brad! That is exactly what I was looking for. I am going to play around again tonight after dark!
