Any tips for shooting a heavy set blond girl with a toothpick fiance? Any help would be great! Oh, there will be a arbor, bridge, gazebo, rocks and swing at the location!

Im no expert but there are ways to accommodate the bride's size composition wise... since it's an engagement shoot youll be able to recommend clothing to the couple, maybe dark clothes such as a black blouse with jeans etc. black clothes are also best to slim down figures... thats why black is my favorite color for me!

typically with all women no matter the size having them stand with one hip forward towards the camera and not having both hips square to the camera helps. this will always help the slimming effect no matter the bride's dress size.

stay away from wide angle lenses or the wide end of certain zoom lenses for tight close up or 3/4 length shots. these lenses will add a bit more barrel distortion to your photos which can really exaggerate the subject. use the long end of your zoom lenses and step back further to get the desired composition instead of zooming out. this will really help keep the distortion to a minimum.

wide angle lenses are good for those wide shots to encompass the environment but just be sure that the that majority of the photo is the environment itself and not the couple.

as i mentioned im no pro at this... these are just some tips and tricks that ive picked up from others here on the forum.

Identity her shape - apples tend to look preggers if you take profile shots. If you do what Abel suggested with pear shapes, it helps slim the hips a lot. And dont shoot up on her with a wide angle lens. The foreground background shot with the guy in the front will also make him appear larger. Have fun!

Thanks Holly! Are you talking about the shot with him in focus in the fron and her with the soft bokeh background ? Because it makes sence to do it that way this time, I usualy do the opposite. Good idea!

Look to do some stuff with her leaning over his shoulder and using him to do a blocking technique. (fancy word huh) Lay her down and shoot an angle shot from the shoulders up. (I can envision it and have seen it done but I dont think I am telling you very well. My thoughts are you really use him to help slim her. Another one I have seen is having them leaning on a rail with him closer to the camera and shoot an angled line across him and her, essentially showing her from the shoulders up. Hopefully you can envision this and if I run across the photo I will post a link.

Thanks Scott! I am doing this shoot tomorrow at a little before sunset so if you find any photo examples that would be great!
