Black and White Portrait

Does anyone have an opinion about background in black and white. I like black better than white as a solid background but was wondering what you think looks better. Black or white.

I am a newborn photographer and LOVE black - my clients do too - even when I try to suggest something else they pick the black 99% of the time

I think it all depends on the occasion, but I normally like black better.

Most of the time I'm going to go with Black, but sometimes white is good to, like Elese said depends on the occasion or the Subject.
