Senior Portrait Session Today.. Ideas please - 12-16-2007, 11:16 AM

I am taking a guy Senior portraits today.. He dresses in the 70's drives a beetle and a 72 VW van.. He wants to use these as props as well. We are also doing part of the session on an old dirt road with his drums.. and some old luggage.

Any Ideas on how to put him with these props will be greatly appreciated.. he is a fun kid and I am really excited I just want to use his props properly and make them look the best!!!

That sounds like a great photo shoot! Just have fun with it and the ideas will come as you shoot. How about sitting on the luggage with thumb up hitching a ride and the vehicle in the background with hood open as if it were broken down. once you start, the ideas will come.

Shag carpet and vibrant colors come to mind as well as a disco ball, and high contrast!

google "That 70's Show" and see if that doesn't inspire some thoughts for cliche '70's imagery

might look around and see if you can find a green pasture or grassy knoll, might be kinda of hard this time of year. I really think parking a car on this really brings out the seen. or maybe setting it up in front of a creek and pretend that he lives in his beetle. many different ideas will come once you figure out location on where to take the image.

Thanks for all the ideas.. the photo session went great.. I will post pictures later this week.. He had so many toys to work with.. one of my favorites was the Beetle with hood up him carrying his suitcase with guitar on back with thumb out.. we also did some of him sitting on the suitcase playing his guitar.. i can't wait to work on them
