Photo Contest Websites???

Can anyone recommend some contest websites so I can start getting my photos into the public eye?

Take a look at Worth1000.com. No monetary rewards, just cyber trophies and a site ranking, but an interesting, worldwide, community. You can get user feedback from contest entries. Choose a username wisely, it's almost impossible to change.

Word of caution: Read the fine print carefully before entering any contests. Some of them have disclaimers that by entering you agree that you are the one that took the photo and you give them all rights to do with your photos as they please. In other words, they can take your photos and sell them or use them to make $$$ and pay you a big zero. Cyber trophies and site rankings are not worth the cost of my equipment and the TLC I put into taking the photo.

Good words of caution, one must always read the fine print. I am not plugging the Worth site, just passing on my experience; been a member there for a few years. It's been a good experience with good feedback. I don't think you need to worry about losing your photo rights there. The exposure there actually got me a cover photo on the New York Post. A rag, I know, but a cover photo just the same.

A very good site with some amazing photographers from around the world is betterphoto.com . They have monthly contest with multible catagorys and a monthly theme. To win or place finalist is pretty tuff, they get like 30k worldwide entries per catagory every month. Its pretty fun to enter! check it out. Just for the record , I got 2nd once and 5 finalist , lol.. I am actualy quite proud of them. You don't win much but it will for sure get you're photos out there! Good luck.
