Able, thanks for the link!

As a poor UT freshman waaaay back in 1980 - I discovered the British magazine "CAR" and was completely blown away by the photography. The images were far more than just snapshots, they were artwork: Angles! Colors! Unexpected settings! No leggy models required. Only the images of sculpted metal were needed to move the reader's emotions.
To this day, the Brits have the best auto magazine photography. CAR, Evo Magazine, Classic Car, Top Gear (yes, the magazine came before the TV show -which is in it's own league), etc.

As for us in the States...
Motor Trend photos are so catalog.
Car and Driver as well as Road & Track photos use a little more imagination; however, in general, they use the same formulas. (ohhh.... Jeff Zwart, where are are you?)
Automobile might be the best photography of the mainstream US mags.

Maybe, one day, we'll see a TPF member carry the torch and lead the way!

Best wishes,
Steve - certifiable Car and Camera nut
