Anyone here do any time lapse photography?
I'm wanting to try some but don't really know where to start.

I know Canon has the remote (TC-80N3 I think) that has a timer you can set. There's also software that you can use like Breeze System's DSLR Remote Pro.
Just wondering if anyone has any advice or tips.

Next question:
Does anyone in the DFW area have a TC-80N3 they want to loan me for a weekend?

Jake
Time lapse is easy to do. Pick your pov (Point of View) and take a few meter readings, translate the info in to the settings of shutter speed and aperture opening and shoot. Now for the tough question: What is your subject? Are you wanting to shoot cars on the freeway? People walking around downtown, the lights of an amusement park, a train passing a crossing or going down the tracks, shooting the stars on a clear night? Each situation has a different way of setting up how long you want to open the shutter. For cars turning your shutter speed could be as fast as 1 second. Shooting the night sky could be 30 minutes. Check the internet for this subject. If I am shooting fireworks in the night sky I shoot at f16 and leave the shutter open for two or three burst. At the conclusion of the show I am shooting at f22 or 32 and leaving the shutter open for only three stars burst.

Canon's EOS Utility software includes everything you need for time lapse shots. Setup your laptop, connect your camera, and launch the EOS Utility. Since you're connected to the laptop, you have your entire hard drive for storage.

It's a shame there's no Intravolometer built into the XTi. I could use it alot to shoot job progression.
My S3 Had it and I loved it. It was awsome for shooting meteor showers and everything.
