Help with engagement Photo Poses - 02-14-2008, 08:19 PM

I'm doing some engagement shots tomorrow and I realized I don't have any really good posing ideas under my belt.

I think we'll be at the gaylord since its going to be so nasty out so if you experience there that would be even better. I have shot a lot of concert style stuff there in the ballroom and a wedding in the atrium but never anything else.

So any suggestions would be appreciated very much.

This is too late but the Gaylord does charge and if you sneak and do a shoot out there and look like a photographer you wil be kicked out. Have several friends that work there as event planners and they can and should be strick about who is in there.

My engagements I do very little posing I still want that candid look we do a little I might ask them to kiss, hug, sit in a certain place lean a certain way. I have lots of stuff on our site you can check out. Good luck

This is too late for that shoot as well, but I agree with Sandra that candids ... or shots that are posed to look candid ... work the best.

One trick I've had is to have one whisper something into the other's ear to make them laugh. Encourage them to say something funny or even *wink wink* dirty. It gets them close together and can produce spontaneous-looking images.

Last price I heard was $5000

No, that's not a typo.

Good gracious! I have taken photos there before, but I guess I was indiscreet enough to not get caught!

Thats good, lol... I have a pre-arranged & paid for shoot there tomorrow! Lucky they are getting married there this spring and we get to shoot the engagements along with the wedding. The only thing I am concerned with is the busy backgrounds, I went there last weekend to scout it out and looks like a lot of close up wide open shots! LOl... Great textures on some of the doorways and walls should help a little.
