You can probably split the other hairs, but its pretty clear that that statement would prohibit posting pictures of the zoo on the internet. It may or may not be enforceable. And it is almost certainly an overbroad statement that they would not bother to enforce in most cases. It's also not very photographer friendly.

My question would be: Suppose you went into the zoo lugging a nice 300 f/2.8 and a decent tripod. What sort of reception do you think you would get? Maybe some people here have some experience with that.

For something like that to be remotely enforceable they would have to show that you entered some sort of contract agreeing to those terms.

I visited there once while staying with my brother and his family, who live in Lewisville. I took my 200-400vr and tripod in on a Saturday, and had no problems at all. The FW Zoo has a reputation for being great for photography so I'm sure I'm not the only one who has done that, and I've never heard of any problems. I routinely do the same at the Houston Zoo as well (not as much recently, but plenty of times over the last few years).

I'll throw in another vote for the Caldwell Zoo. I grew up near Tyler and went there often. Now I drive over an hour to take my kids there. It's smaller than Ft. Worth and Dallas but worth the trip!

Huck I didn't think the OKC Zoo was that bad...I posted some of mine on okphotographers and some more on my myspace and only the one of the leopard, you can see a spot by his face where I tried to zoom past the bars. It's mainly some of the cats and a few of the birds that had the wire cages. There is a lot of glass with their new exhibits which is nice if you can get away from glare.
