new backdrop - portrait c/c... - 03-27-2008, 09:48 PM

I picked-up a couple things today from Arlington Camera...backdrop stands, backdrops, both to go with my new light meter!!! This is a quick shot of my son, 1 AB800 camera right, and 1 SB800 camera left (at 1/64th). Also, how do you deal with glasses - this part is new to me?

slight level adjustment & contrast boost

One more without the glasses...

When a photo is being taken of me, I'm so vain that I take off my glasses. Like your son did in the second pic ... shows off his eyes better.

Having the subject look slightly down or away from the light source might also help reduce the reflections.

first good looking kid...

one thing I have done with glasses... is if the wearer is ALWAYS seen with them then they are known by them... dumb sounding but logical I swear...lol

back on track... I always ask the subject to tilt the glasses down a little on their face... not move down but tilt them forward (so the ear piece is NOT resting on their ear... but just above it... make sense) rather than looking down. just an option...

I like the backdrop...really neutral which of course is nice. I read somewhere where you take a photo of the person with glasses and then have them hold still after the photo and have them take the glasses off. Then if you need to, you can photoshop the ieyes back in.
But I'm thinking that's one of those things that we should just learn how to do...and not PS it.

by looking at my first photo, with the glasses - it looks like I could raise it up high enough to cut that reflection in the lens. Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Yeah, and with the chin down just a tad, the reflection will be gone.
