I had prints made at the Sugar Land Sam's and the skin tones were always over saturated. The tech told me they are color corrected and saturated by default unless you "un-check" a box when submitting them that says do not post process, That may contribute to your problem

Haha.. yes, they told me that too, but I didn't see any such checkbox (I sent in 5 different orders and each time I looked for it). I even emailed customer support on their website telling them that the store folks mentioned it and asking how I"m supposed to convey that info. No reply.

What do you want for $3.00? Grinning. It costs more than that to do it yourself.

Any local store *can* be good. They've all got good processing equipment. You've just got to find one with a knowledgeable (or at least well trained) staff. I get my prints done at Walgreens, but I have them printed at the store by the office because the one by my house never does a good job.

Not that this applies (more of a genearll observation) but there is a Walgreen's in Lubbock that at one time had three full shifts of knowledgeable employees. Regardless of when you walked in, there was always someone there that knew what they were doing, and the ruslts that I would get from them was always fantastic, and consistent.

So the locals will be as good as the people working the equipment. You can get lucky somtimes -- you just have to hope they don't get ambitious and leave their minimum wage job.

Glen - The best way for Ritz to print a Pano is to make a24/36 (or whatever size is closest to what you want) And paste your pano in it in PS or something. I just did mine from the photo posted in the Landscape forum, that's the only way they could use it to do it right, and it did indeed turn out very nice.

On topic: I have a Canon Photo printer at home for quick and easy stuff, and I use Ritz near my house, and everyone there actually has a brain and uses it, so my prints turn out great. I did an 8x10 there for about $4, and my 30" Pano was 33 after tax, I think.

Hello everyone!!

I'm new to this forum and would like to chime in on this thread. I live in southwest Houston and own an Epson 7800, capable of printing up to 24" by several feet, with great results.

I'll be happy to offer small-run prints for a reasonable price (negotiable).

I'm not trying to get rich here, just cover my cost for the printer, ink and paper and most importantly to meet and network with local photographers.

Please let me know if anyone is interested. Thanks!

Deanna

What they told me in the store was there was no option when the photos were submitted online. The check box was at the bottom of the screen when you used one of the machines at the store to submit it.

Must not of been the one by my house. I just printed there this week , had them reprint it then took it to Armadillo for a Spot on print! Turns out Armadillo cost less than Walgreens!

If you guys drop them off at Sams/Costco for enlargements....you need to make sure that you tell them to recalibrate their machine before printing yours....often when they reload the chemicals, etc. They bypass the recalibration process and just start cranking out more.
