Even if that's the case, you don't HAVE to buy anything. The techniques they offer and discuss may work for you.

I attended a similar "infomercial" earlier this year and found it to be valuable. This one I expect will be even better. At least with this one, you can get the "handouts" of what they'll cover before hand.

Free is in the eyes of the beholder. Besides, what were you going to do on Monday anyway?

Had plans to make it but had an emergency come up at work (darn servers )

It was worth the price of admission. I'm sure there was a nugget in there - and there was - but nothing groundbreaking.

I did get to see ShutterflyPro drafted for a really corny looking portrait (I'll post it once I get permission!)

Like Jesus said it was worth the admission price. The main point of the seminar was if you get the correct exposure you make everything easier. Shutterflypro at least got a nice door prize. Jesus was called for a prize of a photoshop dvd, but he left 10min too early.
