Metallic Photo Framing (Glass) - 08-22-2008, 02:54 PM

I am going to make a recommendation to a client that some of her photos be printed on Metallic, framed and matted.

I have talked to a few folks and am concerned about putting glass on the frame. Some have said the glass is not good for certain photos - especially Metallic. Among the pitfalls I have heard are that the metallic paper will stick to the glass.

I wanted to see if anyone else has had this experience or knowledge of this area. Would it be wise to simply avoid the glass entirely - how would that change the up-keep of the photo (dust, cleaning, etc).

If it is matted, I do not think you have to worry about it sticking to glass. I usually print on canvas and it looks great without glass. My metallic prints are matted and in glass. I probably would not put a metallic print without glass unless it is on foamboard without a frame.

I agree. If you are matting your picture than it not in contact with the glass. No need to worry. I have all my prints done on metallic and my clients love them.
