I certainly take more photos as a parent, at least around the house.

Maybe when you take the ones of your place you shoot from a lower perspective. Even if only for fun, to see what your child will see when he or she finally arrives in your life.

All the photo tips are fantastic. I just wanted reaffirm a pp's suggestion to keep in mind that what a Realtor is trying to convey may not be exactly what prospective adoptive parents are trying to convey. KWIM? We had to do our family book for our foster/adopt certification and it was a fine line between decluttered and cold. (Not the look we were going for! lol.) We really hoped people looking through our book got a sense of warmth, love, and inclusion. I wanted each picture to tell a story and share another great quality about why our family is thee perfect family.

Best of luck to you. What an exciting journey you've started.

As an parent of an adopted child. Don't obsess about things like photos and home studys and so on. Start focusing now on life after the adoption is completed. Advice I wish someone had given me.

Where are you adopting from, domestic or foreign?

I do appreciate your advice. I'm glad to hear your points of view and I will consider them. I really want to show a very nice home ready for a child. The good thing is that my house doesn't have clutter, we live very simple, so there is not that much to take out. But we have tons of family pictures all around the house. I'm sure that will help to impress :) Yes, we want to show too that we are the perfect family

If you are curious about our journey, I'm keeping a blog: http://nextspiller.blogspot.com

Again, thank you for the support and good words

Here is an interesting article from the Strobist blogspot about shooting real estate with one light.

They are pretty fantastic, but many of them cross the line of misrepresentation. I doubt that the Eiffel tower is located exactly as depicted. Some other things have been modified beyond the limits of reality.
But, they are certainly interesting.
