Weird date/time problem on DRebel - 09-18-2005, 11:13 AM

I need some help here. For some reason, even though the date/time are set correctly on my Digital Rebel (300D), when I upload the photo into Bridge and sort by "date file created" - it's exactly five hours "earlier" than the actual time.

If I sort by "date file modified" - it works fine.

I don't see this same problem with my 20D or with photos taken with the D70 or D70s.

Any ideas on what's causing this - or better yet, how to AUTOMATICALLY fix this?

Could it somehow be a UTC/GMT time problem. Isn't Texas about -5 UTC?????

So...how do I correct that - and why would it affect only one of the date stamps?

I really have no idea. Reckon it could be something in the program (if any) that you use to transfer the images from the card to the computer? I use Downloader. That isn't logical though since you probably download from the other cameras the same way. It may not have anything ti do with the UTC. just noticed a coincidence.
I just tried it in my copy of Bridge and the times are the same, and accurate??????
Is the EXIF accurate? Did you do anything in the IPTC fields when you downloaded them?
I'm just reaching for straws.....Trying to think of something with you.
