in that link, the author states this about the photos he took:
"Clearly, the degree of unsharpness is indeed the same as in all the other frames — even the one taken with the 400mm lens. Thus the depth of field is the same"

??? my eyes see a noticable change is the "focus" of the back ground objects!!

but what the hay, I'm just am amatuer :) lol.



one thing is for sure, you will enjoy your new lens very much !

Tom- that's kind of how I was thinking of it. Lesser focal length= more light to sensor= greater ability to stop down and get more DOFocus.
