panoramic...... what? I shoot with my 10-22 and use your technique Dennis very effective by the way. There is various ways to obtain a good pano. I have shoot hand held pano's with good output thru photoshop and let me tell you, now with CS4 even better the stitching is invisible. The trick is to try all the techniques available and make your own conclusions. We all have a different points of views and that makes this community @ TPF very interesting and helpful let's enjoy it.

I'm sorry, but guys... Would you zip your pants up and quit sword fighting? And nothing is worse than someone who just comes to the forum and starts throwing their weight around.

Let's see what you can do with it in Photoshop. Feel free to find your own highrise and shoot it with a 50mm to prove me wrong too ;-).
This is a ~60 shot panorama of Hotel Penn in New York that I was commissioned to shoot.
Size:
23400 pixels by 17100 pixels

I shot this hand held at 75mm. I even stitched it in CS3.

Not the finished product, which I don't have permission to post.

If only those lines could be straight and level.....

So other than bragging rights, what was the reason that required such a high resolution? Did it print at 80" tall to be looked at from a 12" distance? Or was it printed 66 ft tall to be admired from 10ft? Unless it's one of those two (or any of the similar ratios) you were wasting your and your client's time, your eye can't see the details anyway (http://www.ndt-ed.org/EducationResou...sualacuity.htm).

I hope you target sharpen your regular stuff and only post OOF fuzzys for my pleasure.....

A for effort though.... (I think I'm going to stop now, I'm getting bored)

Personally, I think what mattered most is if the client was happy....

8 images shot at 70mm, final resolution 7700x4700px
Reason? I didn't feel like putting a wide angle on the camera in the middle of the night. Just got out, took the pics and ran with it. Tripod was used.....

Greg, Thomas' image was removed from your post since Thomas has it clearly stated under his avatar that others do not have his permission to edit his photos. Please respect his wish.

Thanks

Abel,

As of yesterday, when I edited his image, his avatar stated the opposite! I hope he will confirm this! I have checked it before I made the change! I guess this is not Creative Commons where you can't revoke the right..... Maybe the forum software should be modified to cover this case where someone has a change of heart.

I also like how Thomas added "Not the finished product, which I don't have permission to post." this morning LOL

Lets get the thread back on topic and remember folks... play nicely... save the drama for the other forums. We dont operate like that here on TPF.

Can anyone else process the original poster's images? I'd love to see how other people approach this problem.
