OK...here goes. I will be as harsh as I can be.
1. I thought the facilities and setup were very good - though we did have the problem with the D70s NEF files!
2. I thought the snacks were very generous.
3. I thought the "door prices" were great - but as usual, it's the person sitting next to me who wins!
4. I thought you needed better quality scotch tape!
About the class itself, I got some good things out of it and learned a couple of nuggets. I think the timing was a bit off, but that's to be expected the first time you do a class of this type with a varied audience. Specific things that could be improved:
1. Material to take with you - yes, Powerpoint charts. It helps follow on some of the workflow items and it helps keep things on track/schedule. There are a lot of "nuggets" when it comes to workflow and unless you were taking a lot of notes, you may forget them. I think having them in a Powerpoint chart will help a lot. Gathering some of the "best practices" related to the prep work and including those in there would help everyone a lot.
2. Bridge by itself could probably be at least 1-2 hours, maybe even more.
3. Same with ACR.
4. Same with color management - and you BARELY touched on that.
5. PS techniques - the ones you touched on were really good and I liked the "non-destructive" approach. I'm not sure if I got all I wanted out of it (I'm not Scott Kelby yet, so I guess not), but what I got was really good.
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that you did a really good job compressing a LOT of information - you could easily have a multiple day class here. There is that much information to be presented and you just touched on the tip of the iceberg.
Your knowledge of Photoshop certainly came through as I don't think there were any questions that didn't go unanswered. It was a good session.
I DEFINITELY think the next one will be a lot better and would encourage others to sign up for it.

The class was very good, worth the money. It was nice to put a face with th screen names from this forum.
This is the second PhotoShop class I have been to. They were both very different because the PS package has some much to it that it could take months to go over it. A point was made there are so many ways to go to the same final product, one must decide what tools they are most comfortable with. There are also many ways to get to the various tools.
If you are new to PS like me, the ability of Bridge almost needs its own class. Several topics were not discussed, but since no one brought it up it must have not be important to them. I could see that this class could be further broken down into small sections. After class you stayed until all of the questions were answered.
The snacks, drinks, and sandwiches were an unexpected surprise. The door prizes were really good - never seen that at a class before.
Count me in for the next class.

I know that this thread is probally in the wrong spot, but ... oh well!
I have been through the rest of the site and could not find any comments on last nights PS Class held by Shutterflypro (gotta shorten his handle ). LoungeLizard, Abel, the beautiful MIss Lisa and a whole bunch of others folks were there, unfortunately I am getting older because I cannot remember the rest of the names. This class / seminar was a HOOT!!! SFP did a great job , he never waivered from the end goal and was most informative, I did learn a couple of new things from him, even though the information for the most part was out of my realm. I am green as grass when it comes to PS and therefore I am not the best person to judge as to context. However, presentation was gggggreat! Most of the folks seemed to be attentive and enjoying the presentetion made.
I just did not grasp some of the topics because of my inability to comprehend PS and what all it is capable of. I would reccommend this class to anyone who wants to pick up new ideas and a lot more knowledge. If you have problem with CS2 get hold of SFP (shortened handle). He has forgotten more then I will ever know!!!!
LoungeLizard was most supportive of the class and was willing to help anyone that may have had a problem, SFP's and Jesus's knowledge of the software and the computers was astounding. This was second nature to them, and that is the best compliment I can bestow on two these two "genlemen" (I use That term Loosely so as not to offend them or any one else).
PurpleElephant(?) I think, Anna, was very helpful also. She brought along several products for us look at and purchase if desired. She has a company called "BC Technoligies". If you need something; web sites, parts, etc give her a call. I know that advertisments per sey are not alowed right now, but I was impressed with her and her products, OH did I mentioned that she sponsored this class?
Finally, I would like to thank Miss Lisa and Abel, they were a joy to have there and it was a real pleasure to meet and visit with them. Keep up the good work!!!
This was my first, hopefully not my last, meeting with some of the Photogs from the Houston area, it was a most enjoyable evening.
ShutterFlyPro, thanks for a great time, AND I WILL Be calling you about this mess you got me into with CS2!!!!!!!

I found the class very worthwhile, and I am glad I did, and would certainly do it again. It seems to me, that the more I learn about things, the more I don't know. Bridge is something I use very little, but see now how much power it has, and more time working with that and ACR would be very worthwhile, but in a class that last 4 hours, I can see the need to cover some of everything.
One thing that could be helpful for the students would be let them use some of their own images after learning some of the features.
The snacks were unexpected, but very nice. The door prizes were unexpected, and a nice addition, but of course, I never win, so I wasn't disappointed with the outcome.
Thanks again for putting this class on.

BC Technology would like to thank everyone who attended the PS and Your Workflow class last night. It was a wonderful group of people. Everyone participated, was eager to learn and was very patient with the NEF file issues. We look forward to sponsoring many such classes in the future.
Shtterflypro, excellent job done on the instruction of the class. Your only issue was too much material and not enough time. I got the impression from everyone that they would have stayed to learn more if it hadn't been so late. Oh, and next time turn your cell phone back on after class is over.
Anyone interested in website services provided by BC Technology and would like to view a small sample of websites created by us may preview the following links: www.shutterflypro.com www.petrospec-technologies.com www.stevenkaylive.com www.bejjaniautoplex.com www.southsideplaceanimalhospital.com

Jesus kinda summed up my feelings about the class. The main thing for me was too much info and not nearly enough time. I saw the syllabus and was excited and we barely touched it (guess that means session 2 is in the works )
The lesson on Bridge and ACR was worth more than the cost of admission!!
I have a few books on PSCS2 but I always learn better hands on in a classroom like setting. If not for my hearing problem, I would not have been so close up front and such a good target for SFP, but you did a great job of challenging me in my weak areas and giving me opportunity to improve.
I still need the hardware that allows you to go from a USB reader to a portable hard drive until I get my P2000

Ok, I really appreciate everyone's kind remarks about the class. I look forward to the next one.
Now for everyone that wanted more information about the USB bridge that I spoke about. http://www.delkin.com/delkin_products_usb_bridge.html
Follow this link and it will tell you all about it. I should receive mine in sometime this next week and then I will give a full review on it.
Once again, thanks to everyone who was there. As you no doubt noticed I am an interactive teacher and will call upon people to expose potential flaws. I think this helps everyone retain what is being taught. So Nathan I hope you remembered everything. hehe
Thanks,
Raymond.

Just be aware that this probably will not work with a card reader on one end. The "source" device needs to be compliant and have some "intelligence" to it.

BTW, I now need to get a P2000 or Coolwalker since you jinked me Friday. On my HSFB shoot, I waited until I got home to upload the images and wouldn't you know it.....one of my 1GB cards was corrupt and I lost about 5 images
fortunately, I use 1 card for each half and only lost 5 images this time, but I'll have the backup by week's end.....

I'll check that out, but the file's I lost were no big deal (this time) just a few crowd shots after the game. The portable device would be a big help and I love new toys anyway
