I like the idea, but it looks a little grainy and overexposed to me. His shirt looks blown out. And even though you cut his fingers off a little bit, I do like the pose.

Yeah it looks a little washed out and was taken at the wrong part of the day. Remember you are a painter of light. In his shirt you have lost most of the highlight detail. I don't know what f-stop you were at in this photo but that is definately where I would start to make this look better.

ditto on what was already said, a good pose but overall it loks like the f-stop was too low for that time of day

Thanks for the comments. Yeah it is true, I tried to overexpose a little bit deliberately, may be I did it too much. I think I used 5.6 with a 50mm lens, didn't note it while taking the pic and the time was 3:30pm in El Paso sun, so pretty bright. Will try again at the same spot. Thanks again for the comments.

I took the liberty, and about two minutes to make a change or two for you to evaluate.

actually, i would crop more off the top and leave the rest (as far as the cropping goes). also, crop a little of the left side so you are not dead center.

I know that overexposed look you are going for. I see it lots on mags and I thought about trying it. Maybe just a LITTLE less overexposed to get the look. But I do really like where you are going with it.
