Yeouch! That's as bad as I've ever seen it but I know you know the D70 is famous for it's Moire patterns.

Have you tried the DPReview forums? I know a lot of photogs working with it over there but don't personally know of any solution to recommend...

Good luck, nice shot!

Scott, I did a quick process on your pic - hope you don't mind my playing with it. Let me know if you want me to take it down. Anyway, I just selected the color range for the shirt, applied a Noise->Median with 2 pixels and then an unsharp mask as described here:

http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/pho...emovemoire.htm

I didn't use a high enough threshold so I didn't select all of the shirt but you get the idea.

I was playing with something along that track also John but yours came out much better. I kept finding that I killed too much detail on the fleece...or not enough moire!!! Arrgghh!

That is a nice shot too!

Scott,

Did you try Nikon Capture? Under noise reduction, you can remove moire.

If you don't have NC 4.3.2, PM me. You can send me the NEF and I can run it through NC for you.

Cool, repost want you get, I'm curious to see how well NC is at doing this.

Oh, BTW, your little model has very beautiful eyes, and she seems to like to ham it up for the camera.

Not done yet. I'm not used to RAW conversion in NC, but the Moire is gone
Emily is 6 and already been on the cover of the Plano Family Magazine. Me thinks she has a good jump on a career. So hard to tell this early, but she's very comfortable in front of the camera.

The rest of the set is here: Emily

Looks much better. If you have any questions about NC, just ask. I do all my conversions in NC, I like the control better then ACR.

Ugh, I'm going to bed, I have to be up in 4 hours for work.

Scott, very nice! No moire and there's still detail in the shirt.

Hey Scott,

On a side note... Great work with the reflector outdoors! I think you did an awesome job lighting her.
