Auto accident on I-45 South... - 10-18-2005, 04:10 PM

Sad to say, a family was killed today on I-45 south, not far from my house, between Texas City and Dickinson...I got out there as the last member of the family was put on the gurney for their journey to the Medical Examiner's office...there was almost nothing left of the vehicle...I can't even tell what it was, with the exception of the door...

Any idea of what happened - collision with a semi? That's really sad.

What I undestand at this point is that the car left the freeway into the median, and crashed into the support of the sign, then burst into flames...a father and four children...

When I write the story for the paper, I will send the link...

Whoa, how horrible. It is quite disturbing to realize that the picture is of a CAR. There is nothing left!

Overall they are well done, but since there is not much left of the vehicle you should show more of the scene. The pics arn't doing much storytelling by themselves. I would have liked to seen a better view of the car(I understand the cops won't let you get the best shot all of the time) and I would have liked to seen a wider view of the entire scene.

If it can't kill you, it is not a sport!
The bent photograph is famous to the one who carries it and not at all famous to the one who is pictured.

"A picture is worth a thousand words" not a thousand questions as the previous post said it would be nice to have a wider view. Viewing these images leaves me wondering what exactly it is.

I imagine you had only restricted access to the scene and that must have made it hard to get tighter shots. I think you did a good job from where you had to stand.
