boss adopts a whole school for christmas - 12-17-2009, 03:26 PM

thought i'd share some of the pictures from today.

the owner of the company i work for wanted to do something nice for a school that is pretty much all underpriviledged kids. it consists of pre-k thru 5th grade. i'd estimate the student body to be around 400. each kid made a wish list, which was put into binders and brought up here to work. the kids put things like bags of chips, and diapers for their baby brother/sister on the wish lists. employees were urged to grab several lists from the binder since most were asking for very inexpensive items.

the owner also decided to get all the kids jackets. yes, every kid in the school.

the owner also purchased some canned food/etc and put it in to a backpack for each kid to take home.

the owner also purchased each kid a gift bag. not just a bag with some little trinkets. skateboards, table soccer, dolls with strollers, footballs...you get the picture.

it took two trucks to haul all the assembled gift bags and backpacks to the school.

Wonderful act of generosity! I always say, what goes around comes around.

I wish your company the best for the coming years.

That's awesome! What's really going to suck are the ungrateful parents who attempt to sue your boss because their kid fell off a skateboard he gave them. I applaude him though!

Wow. I'm just speechless. Your boss sounds like an amazing "can do" and generous person and so great the company got in the spirit of things. That's the kind of company that I'd want to do business with (or work for!).
