Okay I agree with not cropping it for the PE, but when you have it in your portfolio you should crop it how you feel does it justice, because the portfolio is showing your best work and so that doesn't limit you to having your picture cropped just to fit the publication.

I agree, but work that I print rarely goes in the PJ portfolio, I try to limit that to tear sheets. :)

I was at the same event and the secret service looking people were not secret service. They were US Capitol Hill Police who does the security for traveling senators. Also many people dont know this but the Dallas Police Dept has a Dignitary Protection Unit which protects all visiting dignitaries, goverment officals, the mayor and city council. The good thing about the dignitary protection unit is that they know how to work with the press and they are very professional about it.
