Seven shot on Canal Street | - NOLA.com

This McDonallds is a very popular place since it is just a couple blocks from Bourbon street. (Last couple times that I have been there they have had armed guards at the door!)

What I found interesting in the photo essay was the cops using drink containers from bars on Bourbon Street to mark where the shell casings were found.

Very interesting. We can learn a lot about human nature from pictures.

From the title I thought this was about taking pictures (shooting) in New Orleans.

Oh just one little thing missing from the description of the suspects...

Quote:
Defillo described the shooter as a young 5-foot-6 man wearing dark clothing and a dark baseball cap. The other suspect wore long dreadlocks and dark clothing.
Seven people shot in a public area - outside a McDonald's with video surveillance. But political correctness forbids the RACE of the shooters being mentioned. Heavens no, that could lead to racial profiling or even worse, it could offend someone.

This country is SO friggin' screwed up...

Or, maybe, the ball cap obscured his face enough to make race unidentifiable. Maybe the responsible thing was to list what information was available. What if the witness had said he was black, when really he was Hispanic. Or said he was Hispanic when he was really a light-skinned African-American?

Maybe it's not just political correctness but an attempt at responsible journalism and/or criminal justice....

Your point is well taken.

Then again: public place, multiple witnesses, video surveilance and specifically identified as having dreadlocks.

Of course this week they have had 3 shootings! Makes me a little nervous when we went out this week.
