About 150 counter protesters and about about 2/3rds of them left after about an hour and a half after the marchers had arrived. I would say close to 100,000 showed up, though Dallas Police say just 30,000 arrived at City Hall-I don't see how they can say that number was that low.

Route was not that good for shooting, no clear high place to shoot from at all that had a good angle on the marchers. Saw some signs that were quite funny, only saw a couple non-USA flags ( a bunch of people caught flack about all the Mexican Flags 4 years ago), the counter people were off in their corner with about 1/3 of the cops assigned to City Hall area right around them along with the mounted officers and a handful of SWAT guys. Did see 3 guys on the roof of the library but nobody on City Halls' Roof or the Convention Center Roof.

This turned out to be a real easy event to shoot but not much action and not any of the tension of 4 years ago though there were more counter protesters there this time.

One nice thing was a Law Office on Cezar Chavez Blvd handing out free water to anyone that wanted some-there also was free water at City Hall along with about every push cart vendor of Mexican Ice Creams in town.

I'll try to have some pics up soon.

BTW nice shot Jose, I didn't see her.

True, not much action but I did manage to get a few shots...C&C always welcome as I don't do this professionally.

Yeah, I saw that sign in the 4th pic and took some pics.
All the others are pretty good shots too.

I love the "People of COLOR against ILLEGALS" sign... cracks me up!

And the "DO NOT ENTER" sign at the top. Nice touch.

Yeah, I noticed that as well and have another photo with a "DO NOT ENTER" sign on either side...I'll keep that one in color and post it later. Seems appropriate hanging over the protest signs.
