Fire in Prosper - 07-31-2010, 10:11 PM

Coming home from some errands today, I happend on a fire in Prosper. I got there before the Fire Department and was about to get some shots pretty close, you would have seen the flames and the structure, but I realized I was about to be blocking the Fire Truck that was coming, so decided it was better to move and let them do what they do best, than to stay and get a few more shots.

Heard that they were actually tearing down the structure and it caught fire. Something about an old egg processing facility?

Cripes. That's a lot of black smoke. I don't know anything about the color of smoke from fires, but I'm thinking Styrofoam egg cartons? Wouldn't want to breathe that smoke in any case.

Maybe old pallets and stuff along with other wood items, looked to have been a tin building with wood superstucture so it would have put up a lot of black smoke, wouldn't think that something as easily movable as egg cartons would have been left there.

Good instincts on staying out of the way. I wish some of the competing photojournalists I've come across in my shooting would have the same courtesy!

Did it smell like breakfast? :-)

Todd - since I dont do PJ normally, my instinct was to stay out of the way, but you are right, some will just plant themselves like they own their ground.

Nope it smelled like smoke. But breakfast does sound good!
