Wrong way driver on I-10

This morning I happened upon head-on collision involving a pickup truck that was driving the wrong way on I-10. One person was killed in the crash.

That's right. The pickup driver was allegedly intoxicated and hit the person in the red car head-on at near highway speed. Given the closing rate of the vehicles as evidenced by the damage, I'm surprised either driver survived. The top had to be removed from the red car to gain access to the interior.

Why is it so often that it's the drunk that makes it, and the innocent don't stand a chance?

How sad that someone, minding their own business, and probably on their way to a normal work lost their life because of a drunk driver. What a needless tragedy.

DUI !!! lose license for life. 3 years prison, $50,000 fine. Lets stop being so soft on drunk drivers. This would be for the first time too.
