Distracted Driver Winds up in Creek - 10-04-2010, 08:32 PM

My first day on the job as a staffer at the Abilene Reporter-News, and the editor said there was more breaking news today than in the past few weeks.

I got the guy who drove his car into a creek, not the suspicious death of a two-year old or the jail escapee.

Still, I enjoyed seeing the tow-truck driver have to go wading...

I saw that on the news, and I backed up the DVR to show my 15 yr old daughter, who is learning to drive right now, what happens when you let yourself get distracted behind the wheel. Great lesson!

Good thing the Lexus had a sun roof! LOL

BTW, looking forward to the bow season story. My son and I hunted on Saturday. Had a great time, but no deer came home with us....yet. :)

Great shot, love the composition and the fact you can pretty well figure out the story even without the title. I'm also imagining a very annoyed look on the tow truck driver's face.

"Very annoyed" doesn't even begin to approach the look on the truck driver's face! I was so glad I was shooting stills, and not running video, because I would have had to do a lot of editing! I hope he charged the guy double for having to go into that cold creek!

The guy who put the car in there was already wet. Why didn't the driver send HIM in? :-)

I doubt the distracted driver would have any idea where to hook the chain.
