Talking Super Bowl Prep already underway - 11-11-2010, 04:50 PM

Saw a story on the news where local police forces are already doing new training exercises in preperation for the Super Bowl-they were doing them at Fair Park (not open for the public to shoot pics of) and they showed a few clips on their crowd control training and other response training. They said that nothing major has actually happend at a Super Bowl but they are prepairing for anything in the surrounding cities that relates to the SB and SB week that could arise.

Maybe a lesson in getting traffic under control...

I was there for Rangers ALCS and World Series and it was a nightmare, more for ALCS but wow it was bad.

Getting out of Cowgirls stajum is not too bad for a regular game but those in Houston can probably attest...Super Bowl is not regular by any stretch of the imagination.

Whats funny is that a lot of the talking heads talked about how smooth the traffic was during the World Series, guess it may have been looking on it from a distance and not being in it.

I also heard that the parking lots at the stadium itself will be closed and parking at the convention center/six flags/the Rangers Stadium will be what is open for the customers to park in. Wonder if they will borrow the trams from six flags to run people to the stadium?

Leaving work today 4 of the "little birds" with the bad boys sitting outside flew over leaving Hensly field and I presume going to Fair Park. Wish I had my long lens I would have pulled over.

And immediately following the "big game" the players will be out on strike... makes sense to me...

I didn't know the Village People would need a venue as large as the Cotton Bowl.

I was thinking the same thing, maybe the AAC, Moody Colusium, Nokia, or maybe a local hs gym

I've noticed local news messing up on stories a lot lately-guess no one second checks things- but I bet if the VP are playing in the Cotton Bowl that there will be a big fireworks show and other things going on at Fair Park that can't be done in an indoor arena. I bet all sorts of acts will be in town playing all the larger venues that week what with all the people that they expect to come into town for the "event".
