cont'd....main gate of matador ranch about 2 miles south of town itself or 6 miles southeast of first 3 images... 2 miles down from image 1 and across the road going easterly ...just closeup of contrast how fire skipped around.. image 3 is 4 miles south down from main gate, tracks from water-trucks\bulldozers beside the hiway...turning into a gate the leads west back into the pastures of the ranch
imagine back in the 1800's, early 1900's when wildfires broke out on the open ranges.... if you stood in its path, that was it....no watertrucks, no bulldozers to break ground....all you have is a horse trying to get you away from this while 50-70mph winds are pushing things along in dry brush, literally throwing\moving the rangefire out in front of you once it closes in on you
taken right at sunset time, soft light, iso 800,f.5 1/320
70-200 lens on these |
